Hark! I hear the Angels. No- it's Laura Cole playing the Harp on Peters Livingroom at 9 PM w4cy.com

Oh, What a weekend it was!

Hello friends,
Oh, What a weekend it was. Let me give you an idea of what I am talking about.
After a grueling , but productive week at the studio, I ended the normal work week by going to a couple of late appointments on Friday. Instead of heading back home I decided to grab a bite to eat with my loved one and attended one of the fianl shows of Brighton Beach Memooirs at the Lake Worth Theater. (Side note) This playhouse consistantly produces top quality main stage productions. This is the end of the currently running Neil Simon play( the first in a trilogy) Brighton Beach Memoirs. Great is not a sufficient word. Local actors bonded together to make the audience feel as if they were really a family dealing with all those family incidents we all are familiar with. I suggest you go to lakeworthplayhouse.org and check out future stage and concert coming in the following months.
On Saturday, after some regular weekend chores(something most of have to do each and every weekend) It was off to Ft. Lauderdale to see the premiere of the new Independant film produced by Marcie Gorman called" The Incubus". It was a great night. After parking in the wrong lot which was only about 8 blocks away from the theater, we were informed that "you can't get there from here". It seemed that the Boat Holiday parade was going on and all the bridges were closed.Well, after finding a cabbie who knew where we needed to go, and could get us there, we hopped in the cab and showed up only 45 minutes late. Alas, everyone had the same problem, so the evening events started about an hour late. We did the picture thing. We did the red carpet thing. We also did the consumption of alcohol thing. What a great way to start the night. So after listeniing to performers from the movie sound track, it was time for the movie. I must say I was impressed witht he quality of this production. Everything from the editing to the acting. This was so much better than a typical low budget Indy Film. My hats off to Marcie Gorman( Exec. Producer), Shayne Leighton( writer, director and star) and anthong Espina( the composer of the score to the movie).I hope you all will look for "The Incubus" when it comes to a theater near you. Needless to say, as you can figure, there was an after party. And that it was! Champagne, beer, Other alcoholic libations as well as some great foods. What made this party was more than the food. It was the mix of the people and the way they appreciated the work and support by all their family, friends and media. No big egos. Only admiration for those involved.
So now it's 3:30 AM and I am just getting home. No big deal except that I have to be at the Holiday Parade in Wellington. Ok, so I can function on 2 1/2 hours sleep right? I did. A great day. A Great Parade as usual. Anyone wanting to get involved in some great community events should contact events@palmswest.com. Of course, you can always get to me through peterslivingroom2yahoo.com or through peter@w4cy.com. So the day was over. A nice loooooong hot shower , a quick bite to eat and a great football game to fall asleep to. It was truley a great and event full weekend.
Now I can look forward to an exciting week at W4CY Radio. Beside the other great shows this week, Peter's Livingroom will have some interesting guests and topics this week. Monday night at 9 PM has Laura Cole from Cloud Nine Harps. Harps and their relaxing sounds plus some great holiday conversation. On to tueday at 7 PM when from the Baby Boomers of Comedy we will have the Ukelelee Lady, Laurie Fondilier in the studio making us laugh as we talk about the ghosts of Peter's Livingroom-Present and all about this years holiday.
On Thursday we of course will do our environmental news and green events then move on to 3 PM at peter's $ C show with our guest Andrea Pplevin from Above and Beyond Parties.
I know I will be at a few events this week. Wednesday eve at the Toys for Tots at the North Palm Beach CC and Thursday at the airport Hilton with SUIN business event.
Call me if you want to go and celebrate the holidays with other business owners and some truley nice peole.
Hope you'll be joiniong me in Peter's Livingroom this week, and every week only on W4CY Radio ( www.w4cy.com )
Hope to see you around

Here Come the Holidays

Thanksgiving has ended, as well as all the left over food from all the feasts from that extended weekend. I am always amazed how eating turkey can put you to sleep! The other thing that always got me was that every year the"Seasons Holidays" seem to be starting at retail outlets earlier and earlier. Can't think of any other celebration that starts 2 months ahead of time. That aside, it is time for Peter's Livingroom to start it's yearend retrospective. Starting next week we will have what I call the "Peter's Livingroom Retrospective" A trilogy of sorts. Starting off with Peter's Livingroom's ghost of shows and holidays past. Then we'll move on to the Present and ultimately end with Shows and ghosts of shows of the future.
If you had any part of Peter's Livingroom in the past or want to be part of it's future, PLEASE contact us at peterslivingroom@yahoo.com. I am planning on this being a party atmosphere through the "dropping of the New Years Ball".
It has definetly been a great journey this past year and expect even greater things for 2010.
I hope you'll contact me and want to be part of the greatest thing to happen to radio and entertainment since the creation of fire.
Hang on for a great ride.

I also want to thank all of you who have been part of this ride and hope your ride with us continues through the coming year.
This isn't the last Blog of 2009, so stay in touch. Listen to the shows and definetly send me emails. Remember Monday at 9 PM, Tuesday at 7 PM and Thursday at Noon and 3 PMThanks,
Peter

A well deserved weekend away

So here I am sitting on a NWA flight. Not only do they fly to the wrong airports, they don’t know how to get out of the ones they are in! My first complaint: I have a carry on suiter with some clothes for a 3 day trip (not that much). NWA insists that I check my bag. After a brief confrontation that I wanted to carry my bag. No need to check it. I concede and give in. They then tell me that will be $20. Come on! It’s was extortion. The bag always fit in the overhead before, why wouldn’t it now? The flight wasn’t even packed. Just an aggravating way for them to get another few bucks out of me! Anyone out there have the same complaint? PLEASE email me and let me know.
My not so typical day flying to the Northeast. I might add that this is taking place while the Mid Atlantic and the Northeast is getting hit with the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Don’t you just love it? After all the remarks from friends and family back in 2005 of how we have to be nuts to live in Florida because of the Hurricanes, we have had 3 years where the Mid Atlantic and Northeast are the ones getting the brunt of these storms. (I may add that when I left for the airport it was 78 degrees in PB County and I am heading to 45 and rainy!))
So here I am. All the last minute emails and phone calls to cover my shows today and to make sure I have commitments for next week’s day time shows. Those of you who aren’t aware, I still use this antiquated cell phone that doesn’t always work in other parts of the country. So, I am preparing just in case I am phoneless for a few days.
OK, it’s on time and we are boarding. As soon as we get on the plane, the Captain announces that due to the winds in NYC we are delayed at least an hour. Come on! You new this before you loaded the cattle on the plane! Fast Forward… It’s an hour later and they think they can pull back from the gate. Now I have to admit that once we took off it was a quick and event free flight.
Ok, so I left 70 degrees + to get off my flight and thrown into 45 degrees and rainy. Boy do I remember this weather. Can’t say I miss it!
So now I have a weekend with a little work but mostly with lifelong friends. It’s a celebratory weekend and I am looking forward to be with these people. They are all like brothers and sisters to me. We have so many times and memories together. I guess this our version of “The Big Chill Weekend” (happily no funerals).
The beauty of the world today is that I can turn on my computer or plug into the car radio and listen to shows on W4CY radio. I was driving from the airport to my friend’s house listening to Fan Base yesterday. Really cool. We have come a long way since AM/FM only.
I will be updating my blog with thoughts and events from this journey. Please send me some stories you might have of traveling and /or getting together with lifelong friends.
More to come over the next few days. Let’s talk about it on air Monday night
Thanks
Peter

The Beginning of Party Season

Hello and Greeting from peter at Peter's Livingroom
We are coming into the Halloween Weekend. I don't have to go all the way back to my childhood for fond memories of this holiday. Actually, I think I have had more fun with it as an adult than I did when I was a kid. Don't get me wrong, I had lots of fun as a kid Trick or Treating! All that candy! Toilet papering homes! Throwing eggs at passing by cars! Of course we did that immortal prank with setting fire to the brown bag( You all know what I am referring to)But as an adult, the escape from everyday life was more intense. Discarding the corporate clothing and be able to spend a night in fantasyland is the ultimate diversion from work, relationships and kids! A side note to this is as my kids get older, I follow their progression in what we have experienced years before. They are outgrowing the "kids Party" of Halloween and starting the "Adult Party" of the holiday. I remember years ago, but not so long ago, I had a Halloween party in Chelsea section of Manhattan. For those of you not familiar with that area, it is an area and the type of party you would see on the E Channel or VH1- MTV. Well, there we were. About 45 professionals. All dressed up as everything from the devil to an angel, From cowboy to a Box of M&M's. Happy to remember the one woman who came as a Playboy Centerfold. Can't remember her name, but she definitely stayed in my memory. Well, around 2in the morning there was a knock on the door. A friend, dressed as Peter Pan( green tights, hat and pixie powder) opens the door and sees 2 cops standing at the threshold. His conversation went something like this: "to the cops" Hey guys, Great costumes" the Police replied" Sorry Peter, No Costumes! This is the real McCoy". Initially he panicked until one of the officer said" Look, No problems here, but some of the old people in the building complained of the noise. Do us a favor. Just tone it down a bit. We don't want to have to come back". Well, for the next 1/2 hour we toned it down and then went right back to the partying decibel as before. Great Party! Great memory.
Now, with all the shows on W4CY and the media events we participate at, we get involved various ways with Halloween. Yesterday Dean had Fright Nights on his show. Currently at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Danny Ryde from FanBase is doing stuff with The Haunted Halls of Horror in Del Ray. I know the shows here at W4CY.com will be addressing the Halloween scenarios over the next few days. Personally, it's a Halloween spine tingling show at the Lake Worth Playhouse on Friday and some private and Restaurant parties on Saturday.
Got something special planned? Call in today and tomorrow to just about any show and let us know what you are doing this 2009 holiday.
Not only am I planning on the events for this weekend, but as far as I am concerned, this is the " Official Start of Party Season" It always seems as once Halloween comes around, there are Holiday parties each week through New Years.
Although we will be in touch and hopefully speaking with each other over the upcoming weeks, I want to relay the wishes for a safe, fun and memory making holiday to all. From Myself as well as the staff of W4CY- "Trick or Treat with care- Enjoy it"

back by huge amount of requests

Tonight, Monday at 9 Pm and tomorrow, Tuesday at 7 PM we will be re airing the interviews with the cast of Oklahoma and musical personality- Joey George.

On Monday at 9 PM we will be re-airing our interview with Joey George. Originally this interview aired last Tuesday and Joey took control of the hour. Joey has performed in studio or on stage with many of the great musicians over the past decades. He's stories and his live performance made this a musical hour that rates at the top of any interview ever!

Tuesday night at 7 PM, the Cast of Oklahoma which is currently at the Lake Worth Playhouse, will be aired. Some of the cast, including the actors Andy Christler, who plays Jud Fry and Bernice Cullen Carley, who plays Aunt Eller. Joining these two actors are cast members Bill Knapp, Ross Parris and Michael McKeich. A great time was had by all. Not only did we talk theater talk, but we also had in the studio a couple that was celebrating their 90th Birthday. Charles Carson, one of the birthday celebrants also mentioned about seeing the original play on Broadway, way back the 1940's, and of his meeting Oscar Hammerstein. Talk, laughs and some live performances by these cast members made this a memorable edition of Peterslivingroom.

If you missed eithe rof these interviews, you definitely want to hear it this week. Just log on to www.w4cy.com and enjoy an hour of Intertainment. Join Peter in his Livingroom for the re airing of these shows. You'll be glad you did.

Great stuff from Peter

Hi everyone,
If you missed last nights show( Monday at 9 PM) you missed a classic.Let me start from the beginning. Last week I recieved a call from an elderly gentleman. He was telling me that he is going to be 90 years old and it was also his wife's birthday. He wanted to take her and her nurse, as well as himself, to the Lake Worth Playhouse to see the stage production of OKLAHOMA which is currently running there. Of course, much to his dismay, the theater is dark on Monday's. He searched the Internet and found out about Peter's Livingroom. So, he called me and asked how he could go about purchasing tickets to the show. After confirming that he knew it was a radio show and not a theatrical production, I invited them to be my guests on air. I immediately called the Playhouse and told them this srtory and requested that some of the OKLAHOMA cast come on this show. Lisa called me back within moments and said she had 3 of the cast coming in. I called Charles & Rita ( the elderly couple) and confirmed them as guests on the show. Well, 6 memebrs from the cast showed up and we had a great time tlaking about the play, the actors careers and singing Happy Birthday to our guests. They were so pleased with the way they were treated, they couldn't stop thanking us. additionally, we gave them 3 tickets to a future OKLAHOMA performance. I thoughtthey were going to have tears of joy! On that note, I would like to thank the cast and Lisa from the Playhouse for making this a memorable night for this lovely couple.
Now, it's tuesday and tonight we will have the colorful Joey George in the studio. If you are not familiar with Joey, he is an accomplished songwriter and musician. Performing all over South Florida. Originally from the NorthEast, you wouldn't expect someone with his upbringiing to be such a Blues talent. Well, he is. Claiming he has an inventory of original song that surpasses anyone, he has just came out with a new CD. Tonight you will hear him perfrom some of his new releases and how you can get a copy. As always, we will also be giving out passes to the South Florida Science musuem and tickets to this weekends concert sponsored by Live Arts.
Hope you will join me with my friends and bring lots of you friends too. Rememebr, Peter's Livingroom tonight, Tuesday October 13th right here on w4cy.com

It was a GREAT week at W4CY Radio. Lots of entertainment, Laughs and new shows that are starting off with the signs of being huge succes. Unfortunately the week has to end on 9-11. I don't think there is anyone in the world who hasn't had their life changed from the horrific actions that occured on this date 8 years ago. Even those culprits that masterminded this attack have had their lives either ended or changed dramatically. We can only hope that the rest of the world continues to condem such action. Both those that have occured in the past and those being planned for the future.
WE are strong peole and these past years have proven that we will not give in to fear and panic as enemies of our lifestyle would have hoped. We will continue to fight them! We will continue to proceed with our lives, Our liberties and our caring for other human beings.

One way that I plan on doing this is by coninuing to bring you the best in entertainment: such as all the well known and emerging performers we have become known for, and of course talking about the news and buisnesses/ organizations that are diligently working to make this a better, safer and healthier world for all of us including our future generations.
Please continue to join me in Peter's Livingroom on Monday aat 9 PM, Tuesday at 7 PM and Thursday at Noon & 3 PM.
It always fun, relaxing and definitely humorous in the Livingroom and we appreciate you joining us.

Today on Peters livingroom

What a great day at w4cy. Even though I had to run a "Best of " show, there wasn't a problem figuring which one to run. From the show on March 26th we had the replay with my guests Robin Bernacik and Pat Simpson. EDucational was what it was. We learned about toxic chemicals in cleaning products and also how to buy local and grow an edible garden. As always it was infromative and fun to listen to. I can't wait till next Thursday's GREEN show with Susanne Catty - the autheor and advocate. Meanwhile it's time to prepare for Monday & Tuesday's Shows. Monday is with the Rock N Roll Rabbi; Yaakov Thompson and Tuesday is with Frank talking about video production and using videos for entertainment and business purposes. There's always a story when Frank starts talking. Check back as I plan on Blogging alot. Tjhanks
